DAY 5

 

take aside

(따로 빼내다, 누군가를 살짝 불러내는 것)

 

- 친구를 따로 불러서 비밀 이야기를 하는 대화

A: Hey, can I take you aside for a second?
B: Of course. Is everything okay?
A: I just heard something about Sarah, and I think you should know.
B: Oh? What happend?
A: I don’t want to say it in front of everyone. Let’s talk over here.

 

 

A: 잠깐만 얘기 좀 할 수 있을까?
B: 물론이야. 무슨 일이야?
A: 방금 사라에 대한 이야기를 들었는데, 너도 알아야 할 것 같아서.
B: 어? 무슨 일이야?
A: 다들 앞에서 얘기하고 싶지 않아. 여기서 얘기하자.

 

 

take down

(적어두다/ 해체하다/ 쓰러뜨리다)

 

- 회의 중에 필기하는 대화

A: The boss is talking so fast! I can’t keep up.
B: Don’t worry, I’ll take down the key points.
A: Thanks! I’ll check your notes later.
B: Sure, I’ll send them to you after the meeting.

 

 

A: 상사님이 너무 빨리 말하시네요! 따라가기 힘들어요.
B: 걱정 마세요, 중요한 내용만 적을게요.
A: 고마워요! 나중에 너의 노트를 확인할게요.
B: 네, 회의 끝나고 보내줄게요.

 

 

- 장식을 치우는 대화

A: The party is over. Should we take down the decorations?
B: Yeah, let’s start with the balloons.
A: Alright, I’ll take down the banners.
B: Sounds good. This place will be clean in no time.

 

A: 파티가 끝났네요. 장식을 치울까요?
B: 네, 풍선부터 시작하죠.
A: 알겠어요, 저는 배너를 치울게요.
B: 좋아요. 이곳은 금방 깨끗해질 거예요.

 

 

- 스포츠 경기나 싸움에서 상대를 쓰러뜨리는 대화

A: Did you see that match last night?
B: Yeah! He totally took down his opponent in the first round!
A: That was intense. He’s such a strong fighter.
B: No doubt! I wouldn’t want to go up against him.

 

 

A: 어젯밤 경기 봤어?
B: 응! 첫 라운드에서 상대를 완전히 쓰러뜨렸어!
A: 진짜 대단했어. 그는 정말 강한 선수야.
B: 의심의 여지 없어! 나는 절대 그와 맞붙고 싶지 않아.
